Judge Drops Assault Charges Against Court Employee

There is a resolution in a conflict involving Wake County's Clerk of Court. A judge dismissed assault charges against a woman.

Shawnta Wilder-White said her boss, Jan Pueschel, was unhappy with the length of her nails, so Pueschel gave her a termination letter.

According to the warrant, Wilder-White threw the envelope and hit Pueschel in the face.

Assault charges were filed because Pueschel is a government official.
