customers have been affected by an e-mail outage, a Time Warner Cable spokesman said Wednesday.

The outage occurred following routine maintenance on the e-mail system Monday evening and was first discovered Tuesday morning. Time Warner said that the system was flooded with incoming e-mails that caused a jam. Engineers are working to fix the problem and a Time Warner Cable spokesman said it should be fixed by Thursday morning.
The outage affects only incoming e-mail service and sending e-mail should not be affected,
