Drilling panel must follow state ethics rules

The group that will oversee the search for natural gas in North Carolina will have to follow the state's ethics laws.

The state Ethics Commission ruled Friday that the Mining and Energy Commission must follow financial and conflict-of-interest disclosure rules.

Come critics have expressed concern that commission members could financially gain from their decisions regarding drilling for natural gas.
