A Sampson County toddler died Sunday after an apparent drowning.
Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Little Egypt Road in Willard around 7 p.m. after the 2-year-old girl's family members found her floating in a pool.

Authorities said the family had been inside the house and, when they noticed the child was missing, searched for her and found her in the pool.
She died at a local hospital.
The Sampson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case. Authorities are not releasing the girl's name.
