Senate Budget Omits Auto Test Track In Northampton County

A proposed auto testing track for North Carolina hit quite a road bump in the Senate.

The proposal was not included in the chamber's $17 billion budget.

The track was planned for Northampton County.

The Senate's version of the budget did not include a package of tax breaks and incentives worth about $3.5 million.

House leaders are expected to push for the test track during budget negotiations.
