Eleven-year-old rockerBrooks Paulwill be shooting a music video and playing a concert at the Longbranchin Raleigh starting at 7 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $5. The Creedmoor pre-teen is backed by an all adult-band and plays classic rock songs from AC/DC, Guns ‘N Roses and more. He will also be playing music from his upcoming iTunes release. The concert and video shoot is all ages, of course.
Another all-ages event on tap for this weekend, the Sing-A-Long Sound of Musicat Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre tonight. If you aren't familiar with these sing-a-long events, the movie will be screened with subtitles so everyone can join in. There will also be a fancy-dress competition. Everyone in costume will be invited on stage to show off their tailoring skills. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. All lawn seating is general admission. Pack a lawn chair and head on out there.
Glenwood South in Raleigh is holding a Busking Street Festivalon Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. Buskers may sing, play an acoustic musical instrument, dance, mime, juggle, sketch, paint, or perform other appropriate theatrical art. Help raise money to fight breast cancer during theSusan G. Komen Race for the Cureon Saturday in Raleigh. The start point and finish line are at Meredith College.
