Durham Police Officer Charged With Assault On Female

Durham police officer Stanley Harris was arrested Sunday and charged with assault on a female. He was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

The Durham Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit and Professional Standards Division are investigating the case, which is standard procedure.

Harris, who has the rank of master officer, joined the Durham Police Department on Aug. 29, 1983, and is assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative duty with pay.
