WRAL Preempts 'Cupid'

WRAL-TV has preempted the CBS network reality series "Cupid" due to content that demeans and exploits the institution of marriage.

The station's decision is based upon the fact that the program tempts the final contestant to propose marriage for a $1 million dowry.

While acknowledging that reality programming has become very popular on broadcast television, WRAL-TV's position is that it will not broadcast reality programming that demeans or exploits marriage.
