Benson Mother Accused Of Neglect After Leaving Child In Car

A Benson woman stands accused of leaving her 3-year-old daughter alone in a car.

The car was parked in a shopping center parking lot for an hour Monday.

April Mitchell is charged with misdemeanor child abuse after leaving the child while she went shopping. She also faces charges of possessing marijuana.

Mitchell is out of jail on bond.

The child was not hurt.
