Former Wake Deputy Charged With Sex Offense Appears In Court

A former Wake County Deputy charged with a sex offense made a court appearance Monday.

Earlier this year, Richard Gibbs was arrested for allegedly having sex with a woman he was questioning in a criminal case.

Gibbs was fired from the Sheriff's Office last year for failing to carry out his duties.

He was arrested Sunday and charged with another count of second-degree sex offense.
