Durham Bank Robbed; Suspects In Custody

Durham police are investigating a robbery at the Wachovia Bank on 2821 Chapel Hill Boulevard at 10 a.m. Friday.

Police say they have two suspects in custody for the robbery -- a man and a woman.

According to police, the man entered the bank with a silver handgun and demanded money.

After the man left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, a K-9 officer from the Durham County Sheriff's Office assisted Durham police in a search of the immediate area.

The search led officers to a house on Jersey Avenue, where both suspects were inside. The man tried to run and was apprehended.
