Harnett Officials Identify Body Found In Field As Missing Woman

Harnett County deputies have identified a body found in a Dunn field on Monday as Mary Lamar Cabe, 37.

Officials said Cabe's vehicle was involved in a traffic accident on Feb. 27 on Saddler Road, in Dunn.

The accident was investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, but there was no one at the scene of the accident when the trooper arrived.

On March 7, a friend reported Cabe as missing to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.

On Monday, a Dunn property owner called deputies to tell them he found a body in a field.

The body was transported the State Medical Office in Chapel Hill. The cause of death is under investigation.
