Durham Minister Charged With Sex Offenses With Child

A Durham minister charged with nine counts of sexual offenses against a child is scheduled to appear in court today.

Sean Jarrod Reid was charged last month with three counts each of first-degree sexual offense, indecent liberties with a child and crimes against nature.

Police say the 31-year-old suspect is a minister at the Greater Faith Deliverance Temple, a church with about six families that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The alleged sexual encounters occurred between November 1999 and September 2001, and began when the boy was 11.
