Coats Man Charged With Attempting To Burn Cross In Neighbor's Yard

A Harnett County man is charged with attempting to burn a cross on his neighbor's lawn.

Investigators say Ronald Pleasant attempted to burn a cross just inches away from a home near the town of Coats. The victims say they knew Pleasant and did not think he would do something like this.

Investigators say they do not believe the incident is related to an organized group like the Ku Klux Klan.

Pleasant was later released on a $500 bond.
