Raleigh Developer One Step Closer To Project Approval

Developer Neal Coker is one step closer to developing his project at Wade Avenue and Oberlin Road.

Coker worked with Raleigh residents on a scaled-down version for his development plan for land near Cameron Village. The residents defeated the first plan because they thought it was too big.

City officials said developers have to wait two years before they submit another rezoning request, but the City Council voted Tuesday to waive that waiting period.

The rezoning request will come from Crosland Inc., but the entire project is being coordinated through Coker and his architect, J Davis.

Coker will have to go through public hearings and a City Council vote before his plan is approved.
