Durham Boy Dies After Being Buried Under Pile Of Dirt

A 12-year-old Durham boy has died after being buried under a pile of dirt at his home off Roxboro Road this weekend.

Police say Bryan Culberson was playing in a pile of dirt Saturday when it somehow collapsed on him.

When his father found her him, he was not breathing.

Durham police say the boy was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m. Monday at Duke University Hospital.

Investigators say the dirt pile may have weakened because the boy had dug out small caves in it to play with his toy soldiers.
