Case Against Fayetteville Bus Driver Trial Continued Again

The case against a Fayetteville charter bus driver has been continued again.

Darol Britt is charged with driving a vehicle he knew was unsafe. He is accused of falling asleep while driving students from Massey Hill Classical High School to a band competition.

Thursday in court, Britt's attorney asked the state to be more specific about the charge. Parents of the injured students say they are frustrated by the delays.

"It's real tiring. It seems like it shouldn't take so long to have justice, but they say wheels turn slowly and with Georgia getting ready to do seven felony charges, that's really what we are hinging our hopes on," said Joyce Evans, whose child was injured on the bus.

Officers with the Division of Motor Vehicles said they will get more specific. They will also bring the Georgia investigator who inspected Britt's bus to the next court appearance.
