Applications for teen summer job program in Raleigh, Durham open now
Summer might seem like a long time from now, but, if you have kids, it's never too early to plan. And if you have teens interested in earning some cash this summer, you might want to mark some dates on your calendars. Both Raleigh and Durham's youth jobs programs are gearing up for another season.

Here's what you need to know:
Durham Summer Job Program for Teens
The application period for the 2019 Durham YouthWork Internship Program is open from Jan. 7 to March 9, according to the website.
To be considered, youth ages 14 to 24 must apply online and participate in a screening interview.
"Applicants are placed in internships based a variety of criteria including applicants’ interests, strength of interview, fit for internship and requirements of funding sources," the website says. "Interns are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis."
The internships take place from late June to mid-August. Teens ages 14 to 15 earn $7.25 per hour. Youth ages 16 to 24 earn $8.25 per hour They usually work about 30 hours a week for six to eight weeks.
Raleigh Summer Job Program for Teens
Applications for Raleigh's program opened Feb. 15. Interviews will be scheduled from March 5 to March 29.
Raleigh's program is designed for kids ages 15 to 18. Teens in the program work 20 to 30 hours a week and earn $7.25 an hour.
