Apex police investigating four armed robberies

— Apex police are offering a reward for information leading to arrests in four armed robberies at convenience stores, including two that happened within six minutes of each other Thursday night.

The Kangaroo Mart at 302 E. Williams St. was robbed at 10:35 p.m., and the Racing Mart at 321 S. Salem St. was robbed at 10:41 p.m., Capt. Ann Stephens said in a release Friday. Two men participated in each robbery and displayed a small-caliber handgun in both.

The Racing Mart was also robbed on Jan. 27, and another Kangaroo convenience store at 705 E. Williams St. was robbed on Jan. 29, Stephens said.

The suspects were described as black men in the mid to late 20s. Both were between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds. One wore a black knit toboggan, and the other wore a white knit toboggan. Both wore jeans and black coats.

The police department has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
