A driver from Apex died Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 40 near Wade Avenue.



<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A driver from Apex died Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 40 near Wade Avenue.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on I-40 East near Exit 289 in Raleigh.

According to a crash report, the driver was traveling at speeds up to 80 mph in the far left lane when he swerved right across all the lanes and went off the road, striking a tree.

All lanes were closed, creating heavy delays in the area.
