Apex man charged in 2009 armed robbery
An Apex man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Raleigh last November has been arrested.
Posted — UpdatedArrest warrants say that Shawn James Copeland Jr., 21, conspired with Brandon Garnder and Tevin McDonald and then robbed four people at gunpoint. They stole $100 and a cell phone, the warrant says.
Copeland was charged with four counts of second-degree kidnapping and one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He had been named as a suspect in the robbery in April, the warrants say.
He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $500,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.
