A crowd gathered in downtown Raleigh at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon for a rally entitled "Uncovering North Carolina: An Anti-Corruption Event." In a release sent by Dr. Kimberly Muktarian, President of Save Our Sons, she wrote, "On September 26, 2020 we will [no] longer ask the system to be fair. We are coming to tear it down."
practice that live within the district attorney's office that live within the police department. Qualified, challenging qualified immunity. Even marijuana stops were challenging everything in the system that interconnects because those criminal acts that air waged against black America also affect us in homelessness. Kobe 19 Healthcare way are sabotaged in every single way. And that is what we're talking about today. How corruption intertwines and creates this wealth gap way. Uh, e broadly police way kind of sheriff department. What do you really hoping That way? We're asking and were demanding that these systems be defunded and that we get protections across the board. We're not asking for a policy. We're asking for an act that protects black lives across the board. And if we do not get it, we will go the next step further to the international level to protect us in a country who has hated us for over 400 years. You're welcome. Okay. Okay. E uh, zero armed. Yeah. Wait. We owe welcome Thio. The anti corruption writhe state of North Carolina and every tactic that is used in injustice. Give yourself a hand. Okay? I'm delighted to say that I am Dr Kimberly Muck Terrian, president of Save Our Sons and also the CEO of SLS Consulting Group. And with me, I have many warriors around me. I have ancestors that are standing and solidarity today to say that our humanity is at stake, not our vote, not our opinions. But our lives are at stake. And every time we go out the door, even when we're in our houses, Rianna Taylor has told us You cannot live a peaceable life in your own house way. Have no protections way, way, have no protections When we get up way have no protections while we drive way have no protections from Cove in way have no protections, no protections, no protections. And today we say to our taxpayers who work hard and those who still can't find employment during this time that we deserve protection. It is a human right and of your system waiting racial equity training on the 400 years. No. What is that? Enough to learn about us? What do you need to be trained on now? On training? Help, Geo, Don't kick me on Potato. I say no. There is no training every using exhaust, trying to make humans treat humans that humans survived. Treat Thank you. Thank 1960 1963. And they passed the civil rights hat. But police officers are still not way policies way ourselves, the ribs. And when they come up system way back Thio I said they take your freedom and then they give it back to you. They take your healthcare on, then they rushing it out back to you. They take your housing on, then they get it back to you. And then they say you have a son of a housing. There's a roger having LLC housing. They put us on concrete slams called projects. Yeah, on. Then they turn around and put me on a concrete slab called the O. E. You call our Children gang members e waiting for your deliberate our lives in your courtroom waiting for your deliberate our lives Way matter, Indra Legislator legislation rooms Many of my legislators quite home asleep right now on their obsession while people are fighting for knives for cove it the homelessness. Now they take a break and you know they have guaranteed health care. They have guaranteed shelter, but our Children are now faced and being evicted because their parents have the truth between stand at home and going to work on a teacher e with my students at touch. Right? Academy e Nice todo I get you. God gave us water. Who is you? Turn it off. You got yourself. Um What? I'm asking you to get off my neck way past them off for you to take your name off my neck. What? We never alone E Oh, thank God you get in the air on today. I said no man s So tonight we're here today in solidarity for every human on this planet. Way are honored, Aziz. Blacks just say that we are the motherland, Children and then us is all all cultures, all racist. You come from our belly and we are honored to serve with you and for you. And in this world we are present on We love everybody tomorrow we don't have hate way have not taken a legal system that has packaged his hate and loathe They take them hate and packaged it under qualified immunity They taken that package is under no no affordable housing. You cannot package your hate and serve me re service So we come against a corrupt system, her corroding system. And we women have a mental illness that keeps asking our enemy. The lovers way will not continue to go for a system that asked for you to love us. Because this is what it iss when we say that our brother is our keeper and we are our brother's keeper. So today we're calling for many and those are here. We'll stand to speak the truth to power. And this is the marking point not down mark my territory on the street affair their street mall when they Fairfield runs all the way to a fair deal. And women's and street runs already fair women to street and new allocation already knew burned up North Carolina. I've marked my territory right here. And I say we stand in every human North Carolina will be the first state in flight. Christ, Thio. Oh, you know what? Yeah, Okay. Yeah, okay. Yeah, Thank you. Yeah, Just thank you. No, no, no. So just no, me. Oh, please help me. Oh, no, no, just please. What's going on, people? I'm executive director of our Police Accountability Community. Times for us. Also the mother of Aquino Dinkins. People shot killed February 29 2016 by Raleigh Police Officer. Do you see Tweety? Okay, um, I'm here today to talk about the corruption and that part of our system because as you can, I don't have to talk about these things, but for us, that's when it started here in Bali. But I think I'm thinking before all to be on the tailors before the George Floyd's before a number of other does that happen around America right here in Valley in our city. It started for me and a lot of us out here with Achiote Dinkins. He did not get any justice in his case. It was one long officer on at the time. We didn't have body cameras because of him. We do now because of Molly Cats. What, being there. City Council, Month after month after month after year after year, until this day, we got body cameras in the city of valley. They still ain't what they should be, because at the same time, while the pact was ever give them suggestions on what toe have along with these body cameras to protect the people and not only the police, and they chose not to use some of those things that were suggested, such as auto activated holsters. When when you pull your weapon out of the holster, body camera automatically comes on. So that leaves no question when that thing is a now from Day one chief that Brown had a choice toe, have those posters here in Mali and decided not to because of the money that they said they don't have the booth. But of course, we know that there's line items in that budget that could take from and invest and help it and save it and creating transparency in the community by providing the hardware that is needed to take the task of turning the camera on and off by the officer and make sure their community is protected. Oh, way, do stand in solidarity with Rianna Taylor family today Way cool way. Yeah, I pay off to a family to be quiet and not cause any more about this in their state in their city to sit down and be quiet for them killing their daughter. $12 million will be quiet, But yet the officers that killed her did not get charged the officer that did not even shoot Rianna Taylor was charged because he shot in her white neighbors house. Yeah. Corruption, Can you say, say that corruption? Corruption, that's exactly what they're doing to our black families is creating the bias and the story. We can't tell our story the way we want Thio because of corruption and medium A corruption in the police department, the corruption in the DA's office, a corruption, a level of this booth because Trump, my son's Pursat and DLJ Trump was elected. That was when my son was killed 2016. My son's can't starting that. It's well, Obama, evidently his his people, they get to it. But Trump was elected right at that time in those cases that go on to the back of the burden. So I'm here today, talk about this corruption, and I had something prepared, but I think I bought the wrong number. But I kind of remember what I had in mind, you know? E Okay, so everybody I know just watches the 1st 48 right? Yeah. All right. 1st 48 I'm calling this 1st 48 kill approximation. Okay, Okay. I'm talking about the corruption in these cases that we've seen everywhere. Okay, so in a regular murder off someone who is not involved in a police department, there's a There's a suspect. There's a Okay. Okay. All right. And they're gonna go out and try to find the suspect or suspects who killed this person. This victim make. Okay, so there's a process. 48 hours goes by. They have 48 hours to collect the most partner evidence of what just happened. But this person dying my question first off, when a person is killed in the streets by a police officer, okay, no matter what they look like, no matter what their background is nobody no matter how many times they've been in jail, when somebody is killed by a police officer on the streets of Riley and everywhere across this nation, why is it that that cop that shot and killed these people are immediately detective from the scene of the crime and second small mom to sit down and be ableto figure out how to tell his story? That is left Z Yeah, number one. Number two. Why is it that that same individual is allowed to review video footage before even writing his own account of what happened in that accident or incident. Eyes it that the city allowed allows they're cops toe reveal their video footage before sitting down and writing a statement from memory of what happened. Thank you. Okay. My is easier. Yeah. That the same department that have their officer there, brother. She didn't care. Someone. Okay. And that same department after taking it, officer, away from the scene of the crime. There's a lot. So thank you. Very correct. No, it's not to investigate but protect the scene of the crime. They're all around. The whole police department is surrounded. The senators crime from those orange markets. They're all the way back to this. You ever signed and nobody can see what's going on right here. But the same offices in the same department that are protecting each other and keep keeping the public but community out from seeing what they've been doing or from seeing what they're doing things around the victim so other people can see what's going on. What is the same department allowed? Todo another departments such as the sheriff or State trooper department able to come in and get all of our body police officers out of this scene because they're together. They're working together for protecting each other together. Why is it that they're allowed to stand around and hold this cloud back from seeing what they just did? Yeah. Do you see the anger in my face that I have to keep seeing this happen every other day? Every over a month, every other year, over and over and over again, from our black people being killed, gunned down like animals in the street. Here are the true animals here. Who are the true barbarians here, Right? Who? It ain't us. Somebody, a white man. He's ran through. You wanna go instead? Black girls and shoot back. If that actually starts the happen. We don't have long right here in America, right here in America. And I know that's not what you want to happen. No, that's not what we want to happen. All we want is someone to be charged on convicted. Hello? Not just someone We're gonna be Police officers toe be charged and convicted off giving their sons like myself. My son, My time. I'm fine. But what about my fine? Not even one. Rather, you're right there. Come here. Okay. When George for died, we had a protest right over there on them steps that same day by the police department sent out there Brian Cox, after they antagonized us doing our peaceful protests because there was people outside of not people who worked with us trying to cause confusion so they could believe that it was the people that were along with us and that was not the case. So they sent these riot cops out. My son, my baby boy on this picture. Let's tear games that day. But this tension ended up in the newsroom, a zebra, not knowing that he was my son not knowing that his brother, I feel duties have been killed by police 16 2004 years ago, not knowing. But the anger in his face in this picture was because of that. Yeah, yeah, No, that's how they appreciate it in the media that he was one of the problems of what happened at the O. A. Corrupt. Now that ain't corruption. What is this'll, boy? Right here. My son and my baby boy just turned 20. Not too long. Room. He's about to have his first child I fight is gonna be in us until something changes. A fight is gonna be like something changes. And so you get a conviction thes murders that are happening because that Zettler it says that my son's death certificate, it says homicide. If we don't start getting convictions in these cases, you all should expect way more than this year. It's got way more than this year. Okay, everybody is getting interesting what's going on in America with these crimes. But police are committed against us. Everybody in America is gonna join in. They're gonna get concerned. They're gonna wanna help. They don't wanna support all these organizations coming together to make sure our Children do not die. But they get a fair chance to live as well that they could go outside and play in that community at their playgrounds. Then they could go thio swimming pool and enjoy themselves swimming in on a hot Sunday E o changes. God, please e o stop! Yeah. How about you? You know everything. Do you think I'm on every morning? I'm here from Don't know Carolina. Go ahead and change my whole speech. Right. You get a room you like. Fuck that. Yeah. What I'm talking about which murdered someone? Yeah, back in 2000 and 18. We have already asked her several times. You know, can you please say that you did murder someone without letting people know that you murdered someone? Um and of course, she said no. Do that. I'm not going to step down. I'm not gonna dismiss myself. I'm not gonna do that. But yet someone has been murdered, you know? And I say this because I army combat better, and I honestly believe in leadership. Thank you. You know, a domestic countries, because I'm getting this right toe vote I gave the right to protect our people e overseas right now. E o yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Now alright. Right on whether gone that shit. Oh, no, thank you. Okay, okay. Wait right. I want to thank you all for coming way of corruption. We have seen corruption off every level. We are staying corruption from our city police department who used qualified immunity to protect kill oclock way are staying corruptions of our district attorneys who refused to prosecute killer Ha ha ha! Yeah way are seeing corruption from my locally elected officials who tried to start them. Then all right to protest by putting continues on that no way toe fight that I get the lawless system but telling us that there is a correct way to protest a system that is rotten to its core. How dare you? How dare you use your position of pro tell me or any way the highest levels of our nation? When we see a president with less than 60 days left on his time less than 50 days to an election, tell us that it is his right toe pick A judgmental pick on the highest court of our country. A lie? Oh, that is corruption. That is corruption. But people, let me be clear. Corruption doesn't start with kill a cop with president with election a start Small. Yeah, a small Yeah, small encroachments on your rights way for same deal or willing to know any city in North Carolina And you think something young black boys sitting on the curb, handcuffs? That is an act of corruption, she says. Let me tell you what you won't ever see. It's young white boys getting a hurricane. That's right, It is a form of oppression. E o e. District attorney, a SE official using their power, the power that way in a way that is corrupt, that is racist. That is a presser. All of us have an opportunity and an obligation. Teoh A. When you have a district attorney, Muster, one year in Wake County, who decides on her own, got a white man wearing a Maga hat, calling this woman and her child racial words and pointing a gun at them is not a crime that is about racial intimidation, that is corruption. A a horse and pony show. A grand jury presentation on doesn't even say Briana Taylor's name doesn't even ask for an indictment on murder or manslaughter or reckless endangerment that involves the brutal killing. A Briana Taylor Fuck that corruption. We have got like to recognize that way. It makes you feel some kind of way in your spirit that call it way. Call it corruption it. If you feel like it, call it what it isn. What is it when you see when you see police officers calling on my people? Black people Tail lights were not wearing seat belts. Let's call it. What? It what it is when you see your elected officials who served on cancel also. Hey, boy, based on the people that they're supposed to regulate, e o. That is corruption. Action. When you see when you see early burning coals excites taking out of black and brown communities calling a, uh yeah, magnificent. Let me be clear. I am standing here today. We are all standing here today because we are tired. I need everyone here to make a pledge, make a way grocery stores where you know, a woman and being treated partly because she is you wet were you a 02 thing? Now we are living in a powerful motors now way could affect you like, really change in America Harness this energy, this anger, that sense of hope that you have that things can be different and fight, fight corruption wherever you speak, whether big or small. Final question. Big or small, right? A Okay, e mhm. Yeah, yeah. E o told you a lot of you charged up and camera batteries, just in case for tonight. Yeah,
