SHARPSBURG — Authorities made another arrest Wednesday in a fatal Sharpsburg shooting.

Brandon Reid Jones, 22, of 1600 Lane St. in Wilson, was shot several times July 10. He died two days later at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A trooper on patrol said he stopped a vehicle Wednesday in Sharpsburg because it matched the description of a car authorities were looking in connection with Jones’ death.

Upon being pulled over on Pleasant Hill Road, near Old Wilson Road, the driver of the vehicle initially gave a false name, but was later identified as Harold Marquavious Carr, 20, of 601 Queen St.

Carr had outstanding warrants for first-degree murder in connection with Jones' slaying. He was arrested and also charged with felony maintaining a vehicle for the sale/storage/use of a controlled substance after the trooper said marijuana residue, packaging and digital scales were discovered inside the car’s console.

His passenger, Terrance Lamar Carr, 17, was arrested last week in Sharpsburg and charged with accessory to murder and various felony drug charges. He was out on bond Wednesday.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing, month-long dispute between groups in Sharpsburg and Wilson.

Harold Marquavious Carr was being held Wednesday evening in the Wilson County Jail without bond.
