Anonymous donor helps struggling Fayetteville contractor
A Fayetteville contractor was able to access some of his tools and equipment for the first time in three months on Wednesday.
Well, we told you about this story a couple of days ago. A couple of days ago, there was a read lock on this storage shed. It's gone, and Terry McCoy is back in business. This is the first time since November 18th at Terry McCoy has been able to punch in the code that opens the gate that guards two of his three storage sheds. An employee of the storage company who didn't wanna be on camera removed the red lock that's kept McCoy separated from his tools for about three months. Terry, how long have you had these storage units? Approximately a year and a half, All three of them. Three. That's your whole life right there. That's my whole life, McCoy says. The pandemic drive up his contracting jobs, and he failed $1300 behind on his rental fees. About two dozen WRL viewers were touched by the story. Terry's team was formed to help pay the back rent, but an anonymous donor beat them all to the punch and paid it all. It's just amazing. The outreach that I had from total strangers all over North Carolina. Some people actually call from out of state and say, What can they do to assist? McCoy now plans to build a storage shed of his own. Derwart Stevenson, a general contractor and Smith film, saw the story on WRL and wanted to help with that part of the project. Since you, your locker fees have paid, I'll just contribute to your materials list. So I talked to him and I mailed him $1000 today for to buy some materials to build him a shed on his own property so he won't have this problem again. Mr. Stevenson is a shining example of compassion. There are still good people in this pandemic outside of this pandemic. There are people willing to assist Well, Terry says. This is the first thing he sees every time he opens up the storage shed. And now he's thankful for all the folks who came to help him in this time of need. In Fayetteville, Gilbert Bays WRL News
