RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Museum of History's 25th American Indian Heritage Celebration will take place virtually this year.

The two-day event runs Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21. Both the downtown Raleigh museum and its museum shop will be closed to the public on Friday, Nov. 20, to ensure the safety of the presenters and museum staff members.

This year's virtual celebration will include both live-streamed events and on-demand videos with performances, panel discussions, and demonstrations from members of North Carolina's eight state-recognized tribes and four Urban Indian Organizations. Activities include music, dancing, storytelling, arts and crafts demonstrations, Cherokee language lessons and more.

Sessions are free, but you'll need to register in advance. And while the music and dancing performances have unlimited attendance, spots are limited in most of the other sessions.

More information is on the museum's website.
