A commercial plane with mechanical issues safely landed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Friday morning.
The plane, a CRJ-200, was carrying seven passengers and three crew members on an American Airlines flight from Birmingham to Washington, D.C., the airline said.
The flight left Birmingham at 7:21 a.m. and landed at RDU Airport at 8:37.
The diversion did not impact other RDU flight operations, airport officials said.
