CLAYTON, N.C. — Two daughters of Inita Gaither, who was found dead inside a Clayton home on Thursday afternoon, said they're thankful for the impact Gaither made on their lives. They also admitted there's a long road of healing ahead.

"My mother left a legendary mark," said Robiane Morgan.

Morgan and her sister, Terri Robinson, said they could go on about what made their mother special.

"She was a caregiver, our friend, our advocate ... a strong advocate," said Robinson.

Gaither's granddaughter, Camille Singleton, is accused of shooting and killing Gaither. Police arrested Singleton in Georgia on Sunday afternoon, and took custody of her 2-year-old son who was the subject of an Amber Alert.

Officials with the South Fulton Police Department in Georgia said Singleton was arrested at a Walmart around 11 a.m. Police said they received a call from a citizen who recognized Singleton.

Dior Singleton, was not abducted from the home where the homicide occurred, according to police. Dior was with his mother when they came to Clayton and eventually left with her.

The Clayton Police Department is searching for 31-year-old Camille Nechelle Singleton after her family member was found dead inside a home Thursday afternoon. Singleton may be with her 2-year-old daughter.

The child was not harmed, officials said.

"Why would someone do this -- allegedly do this to their grandmother? Those are the questions we have as well," said Morgan.

Officers responded to the home on Crawford Parkway around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday after someone requested a welfare check. Inside, they found the homeowner, Gaither, dead. She was 68 years old.

"Obviously, you can imagine how we might be feeling knowing that our niece is involved in this," said Morgan.

Family members said they're holding on to beautiful memories that made Gaither the "world's greatest grandma."

Photos of Inita Gaither sent by her family.

"She would go to the pool with them to late in the afternoon [and] fix sandwiches. They would just have the best time," added Morgan.

Singleton is expected to be transported to Fulton County Jail and booked on fugitive hold.

Officials said family members are expected to pick up Dior Singleton.
