Amber Alert issued for Sampson County girl, 3

Authorities said they believe her mother, Danielle Star Simpson, 24, abducted Chesney Anne Gaskin from her grandparents. Chesney is white, about 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. She has shoulder-length, straight, red hair and blue eyes.

FAISON, N.C. — Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old Sampson County girl whose mother they say apparently took her from her grandparents' custody.

Chesney Anne Gaskin is white. She is approximately 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. She has shoulder-length, straight, red hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing yellow pajamas.

Authorities said they believe her mother, Danielle Star Simpson, 24, abducted Chesney from her grandparents, who had full custody of the child.

Simpson is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 135 pounds. She has blond hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and an Army jacket.

Chesney was last seen at 3199 E. Darden Road in Faison. Authorities said Simpson might be taking Chesney to Alabama. She is believed to be driving a gold 2001 Chevy Malibu with Washington state license tag 113 YAE.

Police said they think there are weapons in the car, but they did not specify what kind.

Anyone with any information about the girl or her mother was asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff`s Office at 910-592-4141, or 911 or *HP to reach the Highway Patrol from a cell phone.
