DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police issued an Amber Alert early Monday for a missing 5-year-old boy.

Christopher Anthony Rojas is described as Hispanic, about 3 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 50 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark and light blue-striped shirt and light blue-checkered or plaid shorts.

Police said they think Rojas was last seen around midnight at an apartment in the 2300 block of Lednum Street and that he was taken by his mother's boyfriend, Santos Reynaldo Gomez, 35. The mother was being treated an area hospital following a domestic dispute late Sunday, officers said.

Gomez is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue shirt with a white "H" on it, black shorts, black socks and sandals, and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He has a short goatee.

Police said Gomez also may have his own child with him.

Photographs of the missing boy and the alleged abductor were not immediately available.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Durham police at 919-560-4427.
