Authorities canceled an Amber Alert Wednesday after 4-month-old Jalleel Xamir Howard was found safe in South Carolina.

MONROE, N.C. — Authorities canceled an Amber Alert Wednesday after 4-month-old Jalleel Xamir Howard was found safe in South Carolina.
Police arrested Lonnie Cecil Buchanan Jr., 41, and charged him with kidnapping. He is accused of abducting the Union County boy while a woman distracted the boy's mother in a doctor's office parking lot.
Buchanan is not the baby's father, according to authorities. No other information was released.
