Amber Alert canceled: Mother arrested in Texas, child is safe

MINT HILL, N.C. — An Amber Alert was canceled after the missing 3-year-old girl was found Friday in Texas.

The child's aunt and authorities said the girl is safe after a nationwide search.

Adalyn Mae Hochstetler, 3, was believed to have been taken by her mother from their Mint Hill home outside of Charlotte on Thursday night.

The mother, Kelsi Lyn Hochstetler, was arrested in Texas on Friday afternoon, sources told WRAL News.

The sister of Adalyn's father, Cody Arant, said he would be getting on the plane to be reunited with his child.

Mint Hill police issued the Amber Alert on Arant's concerns that his daughter might be is in danger.

Cody Arant is separated from Adalyn's mother and he said his last conversation with the child's mother was over the phone on June 19. The last time he saw Adalyn in person was on June 11.

When officers went to the mother and child's residence, they were unable to locate them. After speaking with extended family members, it was determined that no one had heard from Kelsi in almost two weeks.
