Amber Alert canceled: 1-year-old girl in Randolph County found, mother taken into custody

The Amber Alert issued Tuesday for a 1-year-old girl out of Randolph County has been canceled.

CLIMAX, N.C. — The Amber Alert issued Tuesday for a 1-year-old girl out of Randolph County has been canceled.

The girl, Ava Lee Pierce, was found safe after an overnight alert was sent out, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

Roxanne Michelle Cromer Parson, 34, the girl's mother, is believed to be her abductor. Parson was taken into custody, according to a WXII report.
The Randolph County Sheriffs Office is searching for Ava Lee Pierce, age 1, and her mother, Roxanne Parson, 34.

A news release stated 'Parson's parental rights had been terminated. A warrant for arrest for felony abduction of a child has been issued for Parson.'

The two were previously last seen on Benny Lineberry Road. Ava has a medical condition that requires medication, which she did not have at the time of the abduction.
