Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, the 11-screen theater, bar and restaurant that opened in late April in Raleigh, has lined up some family-friendly activities in the coming months.

I can't wait to get to this theater, which, according to an Out & About story about it, includes a lobby that's designed to look like a vintage video store (with free video rentals for guests) and movie-themed board games.

For families, here's what's coming up:

Incredibles 2 Family Party, June 16. The first showtimes are 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., June 16, for what's expected to be a popular summer hit for Pixar. A lobby party begins 45 minutes before each showtime. Tickets, which are about $9 each, include both the lobby party and film. Tickets are on sale now.
The Summer Family Fun Card program runs June to August at participating locations, including Raleigh. The theater will offer an affordable summer movie series for families with tickets starting at $1. All sales are donated to local nonprofits. As part of the summer program, you collect stickers for each movie you see. The more stickers you collect, the more free stuff you can earn - such as a coupon for a kid-sized milkshake or a kids pizza.
And finally, the theater will screen "Won't You Be My Neighbor," a documentary about Fred Rogers, starting on June 21. This movie, which is released on June 8, is not rated. Common Sense Media reports that though Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is for preschoolers, this movie is better for older kids as there are some heavy themes and occasional strong language.

The theater is at 2116-D New Bern Ave., Raleigh.
