CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The owners of Al's Burger Shack plan to open a neighborhood pub in Chapel Hill.
Al's Pub Shack is slated to open this summer at 50050 Governors Village.

“We wanted to bring great food and drink in an approachable way to Governor’s Club and this side of Chapel Hill and Chatham County,” owner Al Bowers said. “The Pub Shack will be a place to eat a quick bite for lunch, grab drinks with friends, enjoy dinner with the family and everything in between. Think about your favorite pub experiences…we want you to have them here with us.”

Al and Melody Bowers opened Al's Burger Shack in Chapel Hill in 2013. Last year, a second location opened last year in Southern Village. That same year the couple also opened Mel’s Commissary & Catering to serve as a prep kitchen for the company's catering needs.

Al's Pub Shack will serve sandwiches, seafood, soups, salad and nightly entree specials. The menu will also include the burgers and hot dogs from Al's Burger Shack and some of the lunch favorites from Mel's Commissary like green chicken chili.

The pub will have local beer on tap, bottled beer from around the world, in addition to wine and cocktails. It is expected to be open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
