RALEIGH, N.C. — Christmas Eve will likely be sunny and mild, but we'll have to get through another round of wet weather first.

Tuesday will be quiet and calm, with highs in the low 50s and partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday will be almost identical to Tuesday before a chance for rain moves in for Thursday. On Thursday, taking an umbrella to work will be a good idea, as rain chances are expected to climb throughout the day.

With the rain, though, comes a big warm-up. Highs will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s for both Thursday and Friday. Rain will likely continue on Friday, though we should see the bulk of it Thursday. Friday will be the warmest of the next several days, with a high of 59 degrees expected.

After Friday, the last shopping weekend before Christmas will be beautiful and dry. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 50s all weekend.

Monday, or Christmas Eve, will be similarly sunny and dry. With an unseasonably warm high of 55 degrees expected, Christmas Day is on track to be bright and mild.
