RALEIGH, N.C. — 5 On Your Side heard from multiple customers who requested deliveries from Amerigas, only to see delay after delay, in the middle of winter.

"I’m not asking for the world. I just want to get my propane," Tony Lymer said when he contacted 5 On Your Side, desperate for help after repeated delivery delays.

Lymer was quickly running out of propane which, like many, is all he had to heat his home.

Several viewers told us they ran out of gas because of scheduled deliveries that simply didn't happen.

When 5 On Your Side contacted AmeriGas, the company immediately made deliveries.

At the time, spokeswoman Brilynn Johnson said there were "some breakdowns in customer care," made worse by the pandemic. She said AmeriGas hired additional staff and started working six days a week, 10 hours a day.

When 5 On Your Side checked back, Johnson said that the company had not fully caught up.

"We’re actually running 85% to 90% in most areas throughout North Carolina," she said "It feels 'normal' from where we were around the holidays. We’ve had a few situations with weather, but for the most part things are good!"

And the pressure is on, with more than 100 complaints filed with the attorney general since November.
