After being shot while in stopped car, man crashes in Durham
A man in a stopped car in Durham was shot on Monday night, according to police.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man in a stopped car in Durham was shot on Monday night, according to police.
The shooting happened at the intersection of W. Lakewood Avenue and Blackwell Street around 7 p.m.
Police said the man was in a stopped car when he was shot by a person in a car that pulled up next to his.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The shooting comes hours after Durham businesses owners and city leaders announced a new community-funded effort to battle gun violence in the city.
