AYDEN, N.C. — After more than four days, an adult diaper spill finally got cleaned up in Pitt County.

Dozens of Attends adult diapers spilled out the back of a truck Friday morning on the Highway 11 Bypass near Ayden.

Attends has a plant in Greenville. A spokeswoman for the parent company said it happened after a third-party company used for shipping didn’t properly secure the doors to their truck.

WITN reached out to the North Carolina Department of Transportation Tuesday morning after it was discovered the mess was still alongside the four-lane highway.

By mid-afternoon, the company sent out a team of workers to pick up the now soggy diapers.
