Raleigh, N.C. — Both lanes of Creedmoor Road have reopened after a pre-dawn crash involving several vehicles prompted authorities to close all lanes of the road just as the morning rush hour commute was shifting into high gear.
Authorities reopened the northbound lane of Creedmoor, also known as N.C. Highway 50, shortly after 7a.m., and the southbound lane reopened around 8 a.m.
Investigators have not said how the accident, which was reported around 5 a.m., occurred or how many people were injured during the incident. Multiple law enforcement authorities responded to the wreck and multiple tow trucks were called to the scene.
While the road was closed, law enforcement authorities advised motorists to take Old Weaver Road to New Light Road to N.C. Highway 98 south and north.
Authorities did not immediately disclose if any citations were issued.
