YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. — At least four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident late Saturday.

It happened on U.S. Highway 401 near Youngsville around 11 p.m. Investigators say a Pontiac Bonneville driven by Blanca Soriano-Sanchez crossed the center line and slammed head on into an SUV driven by Tcheka Tucker.

There were six people in the Pontiac, including four children ages three to 14, officials said. Three people were air-lifted to area hospitals, and several others were taken by ambulance.

Blanca Soriano-Sanchez was listed in fair condition at WakeMed, officials said. Tucker suffered minor injuries and was also transported to WakeMed. The others people’s conditions were not immediately available.

Officials are still investigating the accident, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor, they said.
