Henderson, N.C. — An accident injured two people Monday, one seriously, at Greystone Concrete Products in Henderson.
One man fell about 40 feet from a catwalk along a conveyor belt at the factory, 2100 N. Garnett St., Henderson Fire Chief Doug Stevens said. The man, whose name was not released, landed face-first on concrete.
The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Maria Parham Hospital.
The catwalk had corroded with time, a Greystone Concrete official said. The man has worked for the company for about 25 years, the official said.
Another worker got trapped on top of a piece of equipment and had to be pulled off, Stevens said. The man did not appear to be injured and refused medical treatment.
