Accident causes lane closures on I-440, delays

Raleigh, N.C. — An accident on I-440 near Wake Forest Road caused lane closures and delays on Thursday morning, during a messy morning commute.

The heavy traffic was delayed by the lane closures and onlooker slow-downs.

Multiple first response vehicles were on the scene, including EMS and police. Several tow trucks were also on their way to the scene.

There was an 18-wheeler pulled off to the side of the accident, but there was no confirmation on whether or not the truck was involved in the crash.

Raleigh police have not provided any information yet on this accident.

Severe weather is expected to impact the evening commute.
