A Florida community already dealing with flooding is now worried about Isaias
A community that's been dealing with draining problems is even more concerned as Isaias heads towards Florida.
on Hope Sound Where Cindy the Moto lives. One neighbor has a big sinkhole. Mother Nature has pushed the drainage system to its limits. For the first time, I had water coming in the back of the house through the back door. I, uh, was trying to sweep it away with the broom so wouldn't come in. The county brought in nine pumps to move floodwater out after major rain events, and May and June dumped record rain in the hold heights Neighborhood cars and homes were flooded today, some drains air still flooded in. Several streets remain closed, and every time it rains, they fled again. Finances vulnerable. Low line community remains soggy. There's a new threat. Ah, Hurricane blew me off the coast. Uh, not good. Kind of scary. Yeah, it's only July 31st and we have three months ago. So Storm Prep is underway. We have pumps running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We have crews in that community at all times looking after those pumps are public works. Crews are inspecting the major drainage systems here, where free sandbags are up for grabs.
