RALEIGH, N.C. — This week's weather will take Triangle residents on a roller-coaster ride of temperatures, from a cool 58 on Tuesday to a sunny 75 on Wednesday and back down to 65 Thursday.

Tuesday will be mainly cloudy and not as cool as Monday, but drizzle is possible in the evening hours with lows in the upper 40s.

Wednesday will be even warmer with "a pretty nice afternoon" in the mid 70s, according to WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson.

That pretty nice weather will fade away as a cold front comes sweeping through Wednesday night into Thursday morning, bringing a band of clouds.

While Thursday will be cooler with highs in the mid 60s, the good news is the clouds will disappear, giving way to more sunshine. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the 70s.

"It should be a pretty nice weekend, especially if you're heading out to the State Fair," Johnson said.
