RALEIGH, N.C. — The Triangle is gearing up for the holiday season by kicking off with plenty of holiday festivities in the area.

Here's a list:

Nov. 22
The Town of Zebulon's Downtown Tree Lighting – Enjoy a s'mores station, food trucks, live music, photos with Santa and a singalong with Elsa and Anna starting at 6 p.m.
Waverly Place's Tree Lighting Celebration– Listen to performances by The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, Athens Drive Magnet High School Band and take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The concert is free and begins at 6 p.m.
North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) – Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre will be transformed into a magnificent setting with the return of festival and all new lantern displays. The event runs from Nov. 22 to Jan. 12, 2020.

Nov. 23
Raleigh Christmas Parade (Downtown Raleigh)– Attend the largest Christmas parade between Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Bring your family and pets to see bands, floats, dancers and Santa Claus. While you are downtown, head over to WRAL Winter Wonderland at Saint Mary's School, which is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Downtown Raleigh Tree Lighting Celebration– A visit from Santa, entertainment, a slide, holiday refreshments, contests and more. All of this starts at 6 p.m. at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
North Hills Tree Lighting – Enjoy sledding, train rides and live performances leading up to Santa lighting the tree. All of this begins at 3:30 p.m., located in the Commons of North Hills.
Nov. 29
20th Annual A Dickens Holiday - Horse-drawn carriages along Hay Street, Father Christmas, Ebenezer Scrooge pursued by the ghost of Jacob Marley, candlelight possession and fireworks will be kicking off the holidays starting at 1 p.m. in downtown Fayetteville.
Dec. 1
The annual Light Up the Night Hillsborough Holiday Parade – Join the annual Hillsborough Holiday Parade starting at 4:15 p.m. and tree lighting following the parade. There will be community caroling, holiday floats and local celebrities. This event kicks off around 4:15 p.m.
Dec. 2
WRAL Tower Lighting– This annual tradition with musical performances and special guests will air live on WRAL at 7 p.m.
Dec. 3
Rolesville Tree Lighting - Festivities will be held at the Main Street Park Gazebo including local school performances and lighting of the tree at 6 p.m.
Selma Christmas Parade - Enjoy local school performances in front of town hall and the lighting of the Christmas tree starting at 6 p.m. The Christmas parade will begin at 7 p.m. with a visit from Santa and a firework display immediately following.
Dec. 4
Fort Bragg Tree Lighting - Join WRAL's Gilbert Baez by celebrating the holiday season with the lighting of the Garrison Christmas Tree at the Main Post Parade Field, along with entertainment, food trucks and a visit from Santa beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Dec. 5
City of Dunn Christmas Tree Lighting - Starting at 6 p.m. at the corner of East Broad Street and South Wilson Avenue, join the annual city's annual tree lighting.
Dec. 6
Light Up Main Garner Tree Lighting - There will be food, crafts and entertainment from Garner residents and businesses, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance. The event, held downtown, is rain or shine.
Brier Creek Tree Lighting Party– Carriage rides, face painting, a tree decorating competition and of course Santa. Don’t miss the fun starting at 6 p.m. in Brier Creek Commons.
The Town of Morrisville's Annual Tree Lighting Celebration – Taking place at 6 p.m. at Indian Creek Trailhead, enjoy entertainment, crafts, train rides, refreshments and a visit from Santa.
15th Annual American Tobacco Tower Lighting - Starting at 6 p.m. join WRAL's Gerald Owens, White Christmas Cast, dancers, local schools and Santa and Mrs. Claus at American Tobacco Historic District counting down to the start of the holiday season.
Dec. 7
Christmas Flotilla and Tree Lighting - Enjoy family friendly games, activities and crafts beginning at 1 p.m. then holiday movies, entertainment and visits from Santa starting at 6 p.m. at the Cliffs of the Neuse State park.
Rocky Mount Mills Tower Lighting - Starting at 5:30 p.m celebrate the season as the tower gets lit.
Knightdale Christmas on First- Join the town of Knightdale for their combined Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Dec. 9
Southern Village Holiday Tree Lighting - Featuring school choruses from local schools, free hot chocolate and Santa, enjoy this tree lighting event starting at 5:30 p.m.
Dec. 12
State Capitol Tree Lighting Ceremony – There will be luminaries, holiday music and dance performances starting at 5 p.m. Gov. Roy Cooper and dignitaries will start the ceremony at 6:15 p.m. on Capitol Square.
Dec. 13
Christmas by Candlelight (Duke Homestead, 2828 Duke Homestead Road, Durham) – Begin your holiday festivities at the city’s 150th anniversary by enjoying music, singing, costumed interpreters, storytelling, cider, cookies and a candlelight tour. The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Dec. 14
Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade (Starts on Person Street) – With over 100 entries this annual tradition kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, including Glibert Baez, Brian Shrader and Kasey Cunningham on the WRAL float.
Chapel Hill Carrboro Holiday Parade (East and West Franklin Street) - A favorite Chapel Hill tradition, the annual parade showcases the rich diversity of the community.
48th Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour (Historic Oakwood) - Dec. 14 and Dec. 15, enjoy a tour of historic homes with different styles from Queen Anne cottages to Neoclassical Revival and Italianate residences dating from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s dressed in holiday décor.
Town of Cary Christmas Parade (East Chatham Street) – Taking place from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. join Cary’s Christmas parade tradition for the past 41 years including bands, floats and more.
Durham Holiday Parade and Fun Fest (Main Street) - Kick off the holiday season with sledding, vendors and of course Santa beginning at noon. During the parade, catch Sarah Krueger, Debra Morgan, Gerald Owens, Kathryn Brown, Ken Smith and Lena Tillett on the WRAL float.
