Beasley's Chicken & Honey: Chicken & waffles
RALEIGH, N.C. — In honor of National Fried Chicken Day, we decided to name our five favorite places to get fried chicken in the Triangle.

In no particular order:

Beasley's Chicken and Honey (Raleigh) - Whether you like it on a biscuit or over some waffles, this Ashley Christensen restaurant serves up a tasty portion of fried chicken happiness.
Dame's Chicken and Waffles (Durham) - They didn't invent chicken and waffles, but this place is a perfect place to indulge on them! You can choose wings, drumsticks or boneless breast cutlets to top your waffle. And don't forget a Shmear of their homemade creme butters and drizzle of flavored syrup on top.
Soo Cafe (Raleigh) - This Korean restaurant on Capital Boulevard is so good it made Southern Living's list of "The South's Best Fried Chicken." Definitely check out their Korean fried chicken with soy garlic sauce, you will not be disappointed!
Mama Dip's (Chapel Hill) - Mama Dip aka Mildred Council's fried chicken is famous! Food and Wine and countless other publications have named Mama Dip's among the best in the country for fried chicken. It's like eating at your grandmother's house. It is comfort food defined.
Tie: Smithfield's Chicken and BBQ (various locations) and The Pit (Raleigh, and Durham) -
Honorable mentions: Bojangles, Popeyes, State Farmers Market and Lowe's Foods - all great options for fried chicken.
