CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Transcripts of the 911 calls in regards to the missing Orange County woman were released Thursday.
Call one:

911, we just got a call from this number, is everything okay?

No, everything’s not.

Okay what’s wrong?

My wife is demented. And apparently sometime early this morning she left the house. She’s never done this before. And I can’t find her.

Okay. Hold on one moment.

Does she have dementia?

She does, okay.

Maybe more severe than I realized.

What address are you at?

(redacted)

How old is she?

75 years old.

What does she look like? White, black, Hispanic?

She is about 5 foot 5 inches tall. She would be dressed in a blue nightgown. She’d be wearing shoes without socks. She’s got light blonde hair.

She’s a white female?

She’s a white female, yes.

Long hair, short hair?

Moderately short hair. Very light-colored hair.

What’s her name?

Maryanne. She does know her name.

What’s her last name?

Rosenman. I’ve searched the house, I’ve searched the grounds. I have driven around about a half a mile.

When did you last see her? How long ago?

She came into my room maybe about 4 this morning, 5 this morning, and mumbled something and then left, and I fell back asleep.

She was by herself?

Yes, she was sleeping in the other room.

She was on foot, she didn’t take a vehicle or anything?

She can’t drive.

Do you have any idea where she might go?

Well, no.

Has she gone missing before?

Once, yes she did. I had her on campus and she tried to walk home. She was found halfway home. I didn’t have any idea she would leave from home. That’s something…

Did she take any personal items?

I don’t think so.

Does she have any trackable technology, a cell phone, tablet, GPS, anything like that?

No she doesn’t.

Did she leave any notes or letters?

No, she can’t write.

Try to find a recent photograph, make a list of her friends…

She doesn’t have any friends now. She used to.

And you’re going to stay at the home?
I’ll stay right here, yes. Have you picked up anybody?

To my knowledge, they have not picked up anybody.

=====

Call two:

Orange Co 911, what’s the address of your emergency?

I’m driving now Whitfield in Durham/Chapel Hill, and it’s about 3:00 in the morning. And an elderly lady, looked like she’s somewhere in her 80s, was walking down the middle of the street. Pitch black. No lights at all. This was coming from Durham, maybe a half a mile back from the fire department. I came around the curve, and she was walking down the middle of the street. She didn’t flinch at all, didn’t try to move to the side of the road, so I don’t know if maybe she (inaudible) or got out the house.

So you’re by the New Hope Fire Department?

Yes.

And you said how far from the fire department?

Maybe half a mile.

Coming back toward…

Coming from Erwin, going toward MLK on Whitfield.

Alright, what’s the phone number you’re calling me from?

(redacted)

Was she a black woman, white woman, Asian, Hispanic?

She was a white woman, who looked like she was maybe in her 80s. An elderly lady.

Do you recall what she was wearing?

Just a nightgown. It was maybe white or light blue. I wanted to stop but I just, it seemed super sketch to me (inaudible) but I’m calling y’all right now

How long ago did you see her?

This was maybe almost (inaudible)

What’s your name sir?

(redacted)

We’ll get somebody out there to check the area and see what we can find, okay.

Thank you. And if at all possible, can you call me back and let me know that she’s okay?

I can have an officer give you a call. It’ll come from a blocked, unavailable number.
