911 caller: Man flagged him down for help getting friend to hospital

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the death of a 43-year-old man.

On Monday before 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Wayne Memorial Drive after a 911 caller said someone flagged him down and asked for help getting a friend to the hospital.

The caller was driving on Royall Avenue near Wayne Memorial Drive when he was stopped. He said the individual put their friend inside his car and ran away.

The person called 911, but EMS efforts to resuscitate the person, identified as Jermaine Faison of Goldsboro, were unsuccessful.

An investigation is underway.
