Before we get into the family-friendly weekend activities for this week, let me point you in the direction of our Father's Day activities post, which has all kinds of information about events that dads might love this weekend, including something for the foodie dad, something for the sports-loving dad, something for the car-loving dad and more.

And here are some other events happening this weekend ...

Raleigh

As part of its new exhibit featuring quilts and the stories they tell, the NC Museum of History will host a Quilt-In from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 15. The free event includes displays and demonstrations of quilting, hands-on crafts for kids, tours of the new exhibit and more.

Durham

Growga will host a free program featuring mindfulness and yoga for kids ages 3 and up and their families. It's 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 15, at American Tobacco Campus.
Durham's annual Juneteenth Celebration is 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 15, on East Main Street. The free event includes a health fair, fashion show, food truck rodeo, a kids zone, performances and more.

Cary

Booth Amphitheatre's Movies by Moonlight series will screen Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation on Friday, June 14. Tickets are $5. Kids under 12 are free. Gates open at 7 p.m. The movie starts around 8:15 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday evening, Booth Amphitheatre will host the NC Symphony for its SummerFest series. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. The theme is Classics under the Stars. Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets are around $33.
Cary will host a Juneteenth Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at Downtown Park. The free event includes art vendors, food, performances and more.
Bass Pro Shops, 801 Bass Pro Lane, will host Gone Fishing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16. The program challenges families to put down their digital devices, get outside and discover the joys of nature. The free event includes catch-and-release ponds, free fishing seminars, a first catch certificate, photo and a kid’s craft area.

Garner

Cabela's at 201 Cabela Dr. also will host Gone Fishing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16. Just like the program at Bass Pro Shops in Cary, the free event includes catch-and-release ponds, free fishing seminars, a first catch certificate, photo and a kid’s craft area.

Morrisville

Lake Crabtree County Park will host its free Pollinator Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 15. The day includes scavenger hunts, games and more, all focusing on the benefits of bees and other pollinators. Buck Naked Farm will have an observation hive, as well as honey and other hive products for sale. Food trucks also will be on site.
