No plans for the weekend? Here are some ideas for family-friendly fun!

Hello Kitty fans will want to check out the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck, which is stopping in Durham on Saturday, July 17, for one day only. It stopped in Raleigh back in 2018 and 2019 and was wildly popular. The all-pink cafe on wheels will be parked at The Streets at Southpoint at Cinema Circle from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sunflowers are blooming, including at Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville, which is opening its Sunflower Festival early this year, on Saturday, July 17.

If you need deals on clothes and gear for your kids, head over to the Kids Exchange consignment sale, which is open this weekend at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. (Just know that shoppers will need to reserve free tickets in advance.)
The N.C. Museum of Art will host a Sculpture Park-A-Palooza from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 17. Tickets are $12.87 (and museum members enjoy a discount). Best for ages 5 to 11 with their parent, participants will help create a pop-up installations at the Museum Park. It will take place outside. All participants, including adults, must have a ticket.
A pop-up soccer field is now open in downtown Raleigh on City Plaza, 400 Fayetteville St. The public is invited to play.
It's a big week for baseball at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls have home games through Sunday, July 18, and some special activities lined up. There are fireworks after the Friday and Saturday night games. And it's Stranger Things weekend! On Saturday and Sunday, fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the show, which was written by Durham natives the Duffer Brothers. There also will be themed games throughout the evenings.
The N.C. Courage have a home game at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 17. North Carolina FC has a home game at the stadium starting at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 18.
And the Holly Springs Salamanders, a college baseball league, have home games Saturday, July 17, and Sunday, July 18.
